Education is a human right but one that millions of children are still denied. By providing underprivileged children with an education at our school we give them the key to unlock opportunity; a chance to get a decent job, to escape the cycle of poverty and to support their families & communities.
In 2009 India enacted the Right to Education Act (RTE), providing children aged between 6 and 14 years old the right to free and compulsory education in a neighbourhood school. Despite this, many children lack access to quality education.
Future Hope School is affiliated with CBSE and aims to offer a holistic all-round education that is accessible to the underprivileged. We believe that given the right opportunities children can learn and excel irrespective of their financial standing. Hence we do not charge any fees from the children of Future Hope School.
Many of our children come from backgrounds where education is not always a priority. To help them settle and adjust gradually to the structures and discipline required in a normal teaching situation, we operate an introductory informal classroom environment with individual attention, which is essential to help them catch up with their peers.
Each child who enters Future Hope School is required to study in English. Through a combination of one-on-one teaching, dedicated software courses in our well-equipped computer laboratory and reading sessions, our newest students are able to progress with confidence.
Fast Track is a focussed programme for older children who arrive at Future Hope School without any previous education. It helps them to adjust to the somewhat alien academic environment while pursuing an accelerated learning curve so that they can be integrated into their age-appropriate class as soon as possible.
Future Hope is one of the few to offer a CBSE Affiliated education to street and slum children
The new school will allow us to offer this education to many more students and also provide the science labs, Nursery and KG classrooms, skills training centre and other resources necessary for the all-round education they need to thrive.
Future Hope is a charitable organisation which provides opportunity through its homes, school, sports and medical programme for some of the most vulnerable children from the streets and slums of Kolkata, India.
